Bowden, Douglas C. COHOES Douglas C. Bowden, 60, of Baker Ave., died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., he was the son of Ruth Jones Cesare of Cohoes and the late Richard L. Bowden. He was the stepson of the late John H. Cesare. He had lived in Latham and in Cohoes for the past several years. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. He had worked at Garden Way, the Record Newspapers, Times Union, Star Taxi, NYS OGS, Memorial Hospital and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of Cohoes Caretakers and Cohoes Senior Citizens. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Mary E. LeMay Bowden; a son, John J. Bowden; his stepchildren, Deborah Gagnon, Eugene J. Garneau and John F. Brennan. He was the brother of John Cesare Sr., Alfred Cesare, Carolyn Francesconi, Trudy DeLude and the late Donald Bowden Sr. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from the Marra Funeral Home, corner of Remsen and Columbia Sts., Cohoes and at 11:00 from St. Ambrose Church. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations in Mr. Bowden's memory may be made to St. Peter's Hospital Community Hospice.
