We glean from the Newcomerstown Index, the following account of Cyrus Stocker,
at Carson, Iowa, the 12st last.

Mr. Stocker, in company with several neighbors, were on their way, in a
carriage, to attend a school election, and thinking that they might have an
opportunity to shoot some game along the road he took his gun along with him.
Mr. Stocker, in removing the gun to the rear of the carriage, caught the hammer
on the side of the buggy, and discharged the contents in his heart. The body was
brought to his father's home in Newcomerstown, the 14th, and he was buried at
Centenary last Friday.

Mr. Stocker was well known to many of our readers. He was about 35 years of
age. His wife died about a year ago, leaving to his care two children, who are
now left destitute of a father's care as well as of a mother's tender love.
