Coshocton Tribune May 18, 1967 
Virgil Charles Snedeker, 75, of 381 Hill St. died Wednesday at his home, the 
result of an apparent heart attack. He had been ill only a short time. Before 
his retirement, Mr. Snedeker had been a painting and decorator contractor in 
the Coshocton community for 49 years. he was born Oct. 22, 1891 in Plainfield, 
a son of Laurel and Amy McKee Snedeker and was married Nov. 11, 1911 to Altha 
Carr, who died in 1955. in his youth he was active in baseball in the Roscoe 
area. He also had been a member of the Golden Age Club. Survivors are four 
sons, Byron and Vernon Snedeker, Coshocton, Charles Snedeker, Chicago, and 
James Snedeker, Columbus; one daughter, Rosalie Snedeker, and one brother H. 
Ray Snedeker both of Coshocton; ten grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter, two sisters and one half brother are 
deceased. Services will be conducted at 2pm Sunday at the Roscoe Methodist 
Church with Rev. I. H. Amore officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery.
