Jessie Susanna Lenarz, 92, of Uhrichsville, died Friday, May 16, 2008 in Union 
Hospital at Dover.

A daughter of the late Elias and Susanna (Kernin) Jones, Jessie was born 
November 30, 1915 at Glendale, West Virginia.

On July 20, 1932, Jessie married the love of her life, Arthur J. Lenarz. 
Together the couple raised eight children, Almeda, Dorothy, Arthur, Wilma, 
Betty, Linda, Janice and David. The couple shared 75 years of marriage prior 
to Arthur's passing on January 17, 2008.

Being the homemaker that she was, Jessie often made clothing for her children 
and she enjoyed baking, especially bread and pies. She enjoyed crocheting and 
tending to her floral gardens, but most of all, she cherished her 
grandchildren.

Jessie was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia 
as well as the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy (Richard) Yoder of Wooster, Ohio, 
Arthur "Gene" (Joanne) Lenarz of Freeport, Ohio, Wilma (Harold) Watson of 
Soquel, California, Betty (William) Alexander of Hartville, Ohio, Linda Wood 
of Gilroy, California, Janice (Rod) Wimer of Uhrichsville and David (Candace) 
Lenarz of Uhrichsville; 23 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren; 18 great-
great grandchildren and a brother, Marion (Maxine) Jones of Canton, Ohio.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, a daughter, 
Jessie Almeda Morgan; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one 
great-great grandchild; a son-in-law, Jack Wood; three sisters, Catherine 
Roberts, Bertha Hess and Matilda "Tillie" Kendel and six brothers, Charles, 
Ed, Page, Henry, Wesley and George Jones.

Family and friends may call Monday, May 19, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-
Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service 
celebrating Jessie's life will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. 
in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial 
will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the 
committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the fellowship hall of 
the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia.

Church, 201 West High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
