The Coshocton Tribune

Mrs. Lydia Johns, aged 81, died Friday evening at 5 o'clock at her home on East
Church st. Newcomerstown from complications.  She had been ill five months.  She
was born at Bernice May 17, 1850 where she spent her early life, the daughter of
the late Daniel and Melissia Kees.   She had been a resident of Newcomerstown
for the last 30 years.  She was married in February 1866 to George Johns who
died many years ago. She was a member of the M.P. church at Newcomerstown and
the Hartwood M. P. Church.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hannah Gadd and
Mrs. Mary Gadd all of Newcomerstown; two sons Phillip and Edward John both of
Port Washington and 16 grandchildren. Burial will be made in the Newcomerstown
cemetery.
