Coshocton Tribune

Francis Johns Jr., 29, principal in the Sugarcreek Elementary School and a
native of Coshocton, died Monday noon enroute to Union Hospital at Dover
following a heart attack at his home in Dover. A son of Francis Johns Sr. of
Stone Creek and the late Helen Loveless Johns, he was a graduate of Stone Creek
High School. He received his bachelor of education degree from Muskingum College
and presently was doing graduate work at Akron University. A former teacher in
Dresden, and a former principal and coach at Dundee, he served as assistant
manager of the Surety Savings & Loan Co. in Dover for a year. he was a member of
the Grace Lutheran Church of Dover and the Dover Elks Lodge. In addition to his
father he is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Dozer, a third grade
teacher at Strasburg; a son, David Allen, of the home; his stepmother, Mrs.
Clara Johns. Services will be Thursday at 2pm at the Grace Lutheran Church with
Rev. Edward K. Stipe and Rev. Clarence Higgins Jr. officiating. Burial will be
in Bakersville cemetery.
