Coshocton Tribune

Sigel M. John, 77, Newcomerstown Route 1, died at 9:05pm Saturday at Union
Hospital, Dover, where he was a patient for several days. Born Nov. 23, 1893,
near Newcomerstown, he was a son of George F. and Emma Riggle John. Nov. 28,
1914, he was married to Edith Shaffer, who survives. Surviving besides his wife
are three sons, Sigel E. of Newcomerstown Route 3; George G. of Newcomerstown
Route 2 and Charles F. of New Philadelpha; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth)
Burrier, Port Washington Route 1; and Mrs. Paul (Jean) McConnell, West Lafayette
Route 1; Mrs. James (Mae) Gibson and Mrs. Joe (Shirley) McKnight, both of New
Philadelphia; two brothers, Lester of Newcomerstown and Harold of Massillon;
five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Snedeker, Miss Justa John, Mrs. Mabel Hay and Mrs.
Audrey Hawk all of Canton and Mrs. Effie Lyons, Navarre; 19 grandchildren and
three great grandchildren. A daughter and four sisters are deceased.  Mr. John
was a retired farmer and a member of Wolf Methodist Church. Services will be at
1pm Tuesday at Ourant Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Ethel M. Reese. Burial
will be in Bethel Cemetery.
