Mrs. Mary Gadd, 74 Stricken at Home of Daughter Wednesday Mrs. Mary Gadd, widow
of Frank Gadd, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles
Carr, Newcomerstown Route 2 after an illness of several months. She was 74. Mrs.
Gadd was born Nov. 17 1871, in Salem township a daughter of George and Lydia
Johns. On March 26 1891, she was married to Frank Gadd, who died in 1939. She
was a member of the College St. Methodist church and the Buckhorn grange.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Carr, two grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren, two brothers, Philip John of Newcomerstown and Edward
Johns, of Port Washington. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2pm at
the home of Mrs. Carr, with Rev. Thomas W. Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in
Newcomerstown cemetery.
