Coshocton Tribune
Mr. David Gadd, a prominent and highly respected farmer, died at his home near
Stocker's school house a few miles southeast of this city, on Thursday, the 7th
inst., of la grippe followed by hemorrhage of the lungs, at the age of 72. He
was born March 3rd 1835, and was married April 8, 1856, to Margaret Stoffer, who
survives her husband. To this union were born four sons and two daughters,
namely, J.V. Gadd of Low Gap, Wm. E. and D. M. on the home place, J. F. of this
city, Mrs. Anna Barthalow, also of this city, and Marilda who died 30 years ago.
Mr. Gadd was a faithful member of the U. B. church for many years, was a kind
husband, an indulgent father and an obliging neighbor. Many friends, as well as
his family, will remember his kid deeds and mourn his loss to the church and
community. The funeral services were conducted at King's U. B. church last
Saturday morning by Pastor W. A. Hevlow, attended by a large concourse of
sorrowing friends and interment was made in the church cemetery.
