Coshocton Tribune

Cecil A. Barthalow, 51, employee at the Newcomerstown post office died at 2:15am
today of a heart attack at his home, 570 Railroad St. He was born June 18, 1901
in Newcomerstown, a son of Alvin Lincoln and Anna Gadd Barthalow, and was
married to Pearl Arcore Marquand, who survives.  Mr. Barthalow was a member of
the Newcomerstown Four Square Gospel church.  Enlisting in the service Jan 17,
1918, he served with Bat. A, 2nd Bn., F.A. in the Toul sector in France and
received his discharge from the army May 9, 1919.   He was affiliated with
Thomas C. Montgomery post No. 431 of the American Legion.  Surviving in addition
to the widow are one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Toney, Newcomerstown Route 1; four
sons, Charles H. and Harry, Newcomerstown Route 1, and James of the home; a
stepson, Russell Marquand, Newcomerstown Route 3; one sister, Mrs. Harry Tyler,
Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren.  Three sisters and one brother are deceased.
 Services will be conducted at 2pm Monday at the Ourant funeral home with Rev.
O.E. Ghere officiating.  Burial will be in Fairfield cemetery at West Lafayette.
 There will be a veterans service at the cemetery.
