Bedard, Edith Rose         
ALBANY Edith Rose Bristol Bedard, 87, formerly of South Pearl Street, went
home to her Lord on Thursday morning, September 16, 2004 at the Villa Mary
Immaculate where she had been a resident for three years. Born July 30, 1917,
in Pittsfield, Mass., she was the loving daughter of the late Herbert and
Edith R. Dymond Bristol. Rose worked for many years as a secretary for
Breslaw's Furniture of Albany. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors
include her devoted and loving daughter, Rosemary C. Moore of Rensselaer; one
daughter-in-law, Cheryl Farthing; a sister-in-law, Marge Bristol of Nassau;
nine grandchildren of which two were very devoted to love and care for Rose,
Manny Ortiz of Feura Bush and Sarah Moore of Rensselaer along with 11
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Mary Wiley, Donald
Farthing Sr.; two brothers, Herbert Butch and George Bristol. Rose's family
would like to give special thanks to Community Hospice of Albany and their
volunteers especially Leslie Dykeman, who spent countless hours as not only a
volunteer but as a close friend of Rose's, and the devoted staff of Villa Mary
Immaculate. Funeral services will be on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hall & Higgins
Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown where Rev. Peter Kelly will officiate.
Interment will follow in the family plot in Garfield Cemetery. Relatives and
friends are invited to the funeral home on Monday starting at noon. Memorial
contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany or the charity of
one's choice.
