Behan CSJ, Sister Marie LATHAM Sister Marie Behan, CSJ, formerly known as Sister Margaret Catherine, died on Monday, September 20, 2004 at St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, N.Y. Sister was born in Glens Falls, N.Y., the daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret O'Leary Behan. She was in the 58th year of her life as a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister Marie was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Glens Falls and received a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in history from the College of Saint Rose, Albany. She also earned credits in clinical pastoral education at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mass. Sister taught in schools of the dioceses of Albany and Syracuse including St. Peter's, Saratoga Springs, St. Joseph's, Troy and St. Vincent De Paul, Syracuse. She served in the Pastoral Care Department of St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady and as parish minister in St. Patrick's Parish, Binghamton. Sister Marie is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. (Marjorie) Leon Layden of Hudson Falls and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place on Thursday, September 23 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Chapel at St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham. Relatives and friends may call at the Chapel of the Provincial House on Wednesday, September 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. evening prayer will be at 7 p.m. Interment will take place in our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.
