Baisden, Joseph A.         
ALBANY Joseph A. Baisden, 89, of Albany, died Sunday, September 19, 2004 at
Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, after a long illness. Born and educated in
Watervliet, he was the son of the late Elmer L. and Eliza Ayers Baisden. A
veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in North Africa and
Europe. Mr. Baisden was a locomotive engineer with the former Delaware &
Hudson Railroad in the passenger and freight divisions for 37 years, retiring
in 1976. He was a 45 year member of Evening Star Masonic Lodge, Latham.
Survivors include his sisters, Laura Murphy of Albany and Lois (Harold)
Jackson of Watervliet; his brother, Lewis H. (Norma) Baisden of Watervliet;
and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral servicers were held at the
convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to the
memorial fund of Jermain Memorial Presbyterian Church, 601 Fifth Avenue,
