From the Republican Crisis.

At a respectable meeting of republican electors of the town of Bethlehem, in
the county of Albany, held at the house of Garrit Sager, at Stoney-Hill, on
Friday the 23d January, 1807, agreeable to notice.
WILLIAM PANGBURN, Chairman.
DAVID SAGER, Secretary.

Resolved unanimously, That we repose full confidence in the republicanism of
Thomas Jefferson, the President of the United States, and that we approve of
his administration.

Resolved unanimously, That the resolutions passed by a number of our
republican brethren of the town of Guilderland, on the 16th inst. be read --

Thereupon,

Resolved unanimously, That we highly approve of the sentiments contained in
said resolutions; that they ought to be approved of by every true hearted
republican.

Resolved unanimously, That it is extremely dangerous for the republican yeomen
of this state, to become dupes to a few leading and designing politicians, who
are struggling to obtain power and consequence, at the expense of their
integrity.

Resolved unanimously, That we are determined to act as republicans -- and
will, therefore, use every honourable exertion to re-elect his Excellency
Morgan Lewis, to his present office.

Resolved unanimously, That we challenge the enemies of Governor Lewis to prove
that we have not been always consistent republicans.

Resolved unanimously, That the following persons compose a corresponding
committee, to confer with other committees established in any part of this
state, friendly to the republican cause:

Garrit Sager, William Pangburn, William Pangburn, jun. William Sager, Staats
Sager, David Sager, John Gristlar, jun., John Lagrange, Christian I. Lagrange,
Jacob Jacobson, Simon Jacobson, Evert Jacobson, John Jacobson, George Ten
Eyck, Jacob O. Lagrange, Sheubal Holmes, Gerrit I. Sager, John Danick, Seymore
Holmes.

Resolved unanimously, That the proceedings of this meeting be signed by the
chairman and secretary, and be published in the Republican Crisis, Albany
Register, and Gazette.

WILLIAM PANGBURN, Chairman.
DAVID SAGER, Secretary.

Additional Comments:
I believe that William Pangburn the elder may be the the brother-in-law of
Garrit Sager and the son of William Pangburn and Mary Coddington, but it's not
proven. Evidence at http://wc.rootsweb.com/~hendersonscholes.
