Mr. Ralph E. Black
Mr. Ralph E. Black, 66, of 42 Edgewood Ave., died
Tuesday morning, December 24, 1985 at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon,
December 26, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of  Pasley-
Fletcher Funeral Home.

The Rev. Lawrence Burge officiated.  Interment was
held in South View Cemetery.  Pasley-Fletcher
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Black was a native Upsonian, retiring in June
1982 as a shift foreman at the Peerless Division of
Thomaston Mills.  He was a member of East Thomaston
Lodge No. 175 F& AM, a member of Stanford Ellington
Post No. 6447 Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving in
the U.S. Army.  Mr. Black was a member of Hightower
Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jimmy Brooks Black
of Thomaston, two daughters: Mrs. Ronald Johnston of
Thomaston, and Mrs. Marshall Bedford of Jonesboro,
one son, Mr. Earl Black, Jr., of Mechanicsville,
Md., mother, Mrs. Jennie Lou Black of Thomaston, one
sister, Mrs. Thom Connell of Thomaston, one brother
Miles of Thomaston.
