Thomaston Times - December 11, 1936

BIRDSONG
  Mr. Henry F. Birdsong, 89 years of age, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 
10, 1936, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Trice.
  He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Trice, and Mrs. Jesse Ellington, 
of Forest Park, Ga.; a son, H. H.Birdsong; a sister, Mrs. Willie Byers, of 
Texas, and a brother, Rev. Ross Birdsong.
  Mr. Henry Birdsong who was one of the three remaining Confederate Veterans 
of Upson County, and would have been 90 years of age had he lived until 
Christmas Eve.
  Funeral services are being held this (Friday) morning, December 11, at 10 
o'clock at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Trice.  Rev. J. J. Childs 
officiating.  Interment Rocky Mount Cemetery.
  The following directors of the Upson County Alliance Warehouse were named 
pall-bearers: Mr. Henry Hoyle, Mr. Jim Colquitt, Mr. John Colquitt, Mr. Lee 
Kelley, Mr. Ed Rogers, and Mr. Jim McEachern.
