James Barron, Jr., 68

James W. Barron, Jr., 68, of Macon, formerly of
Thomaston, died Monday morning, May 12, in Coliseum
Park Hospital, Macon.  The Upson County native had
lived in Macon for the past 35 years and was retired
from the Inspector Division of Warner Robins Air
Base.  He was a member of Antioch United Methodist
Church in Thomaston.  He held membership in the
Mable Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Al Sihah
Shrine Temple of Macon.  He was a former member of
VFW Post 658 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge
1688 in Warner Robins.  A vereran of WW 11, he
served in the Army Air Corp.

Mr. Barron is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Wade
Barron, a step-son, Jack Cotton of Lizella, two
sisters:  Mrs. Clemmie B. Zellner of Thomaston, Mrs.
Lois B. Elder of Griffin, and four brothers:  Marvin
E. Barron of Thomaston, Joe A. Barron of
Fayetteville, Harvey Gordy and Ot. Gordy, both of
Thomaston.  Three step-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 13, at
3:00 in Macon Memorial Park.  Snow's Memorial Chapel
of Macon was in charge of arrangements.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society or a charity of your choice.
