COL. W.Y. ALLEN DIED TUESDAY
1925

Col. W. Y. Allen died at his home in the city early
Tuesday morning after a illness of several months. The
Funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at
the residence. The exercises were conducted by Rev. C.S.
Durden, pastor of First Baptist Church, assisted by Rev.
S. R. England, pastor of the First Methodist Church.

A large number of sorrowing friends attended the Funeral
exercises and followed the casket to its last resting
place in Glenwood Cemetery.

He had practiced Law here for many years and was a long
time prominent in politics thus coming in contact with a
large number of people. Col. Allen was 57 years of age
and a member of the First Baptist church of Thomaston.
The deceased is survived by his widow and three children,
Mrs. James Howell, Mr. Perry Allen of Loachapoka, AL.,
and Miss Birdie Allen. All of us have the deepest
sympathy of the people in their bereavement.
