THE WEDDING BELLS.

Those Who Have Succummed [sic] to Cupid's Darts the Past Week.

There was a brilliant company assembled at the residence of the bride's parents in Chest
Springs, Thursday afternoon, to witness the nuptials of Mr. William C. Shiffer, of Tyrone,
now superintendent at Hastings, Cambria county, and Miss Clementine Crouse. Rev. L. L.
Logan, pastor of Allegheny charge, Methodist Episcopal church, said the words that made
two happy hearts beat as one. From 3 p.m. until 6 the guests from a distance began to
arrive, and these were from Altoona, Carrolltown, Loretta, Ashville, Ebensburg, and Newville,
Cumberland county. The attendants were Mr. William Crouse, of Chest Springs; Miss Nannie
Morgan, of this city; Mr. Scott Harris, of Bellefonte, and Miss Annie Weisgarver, of this city.
When the ceremony was concluded and the congratulations of the company extended to
the bride and groom, they were invited to the dining room where a magnificent luncheon
was spread, which was enjoyed by all. The presents were numerous, handsome and very
valuable. The bride and groom start on their matrimonial career with the benediction of a
host of friends and both are well equipped to make home pleasant and the marriage state
a blessing. With these aims in view life to them will be an uninterrupted honeymoon, that
even cares and anxieties will not dim, nor old age cause to wane.
