This is the last Will of Christian Funk, as found in the Courthouse at
Greensburg, Westmoreland County PA. Proved on 3 Mar 1835, and transcribed for
the UsGenWeb by Jim K. Markle 11/97.

 The last Will and Testament of Christian Funk of South Huntington township
Westmoreland County. I Christian Funk considering the uncertianty of this
mortal life and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be God for the same) Do
make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following
(that is to say) I desire to commit my soul into the hand of God and my body to
the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my
executors. I give and bequest unto my beloved wife Magdalena Funk seventy five
dollars per year during her natural life to be paid by my three sons David,
Joseph & Simon out of the proceeds of my real estate which I bequeath to them,
and my wife Magdalena has agreed to accept and take the same in --- of her
----. Also my wife is to have a room in the north corner of my mansion house
----- the house north of the lane with sufficient fuel laid at as convenient to
the door so long as she chooses there to reside. Also my wife is to have
whatever of my house furniture she chooses to take for hers and use in
housekeeping and one milk cow of her own choosing the cow to be kept for her on
that place free of any charge and the above not to be appraised.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto the Children of my son Christian decd. five
hundred dollars share and share alike to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Henry and his heirs thirteen
dollars and ninety seven cents to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Barbara intermarried with
Joseph Lash five hundred dollars to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel & his heirs five hundred dollars
 to be paid him in notes of his payable to me which are amongst my papers.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy intermarried with Jacob Tuckert
 and  her heirs five hundred dollars to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Martin and to his heirs two hundred
 seventy eight dollars and seventy eight cents to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Abraham and his heirs three hundred
 dollars to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my grand son John Funk son of Jacob Funk decd.
 three hundred dollars to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter E--- Funk daughter of Jacob
 Funk decd. two hundred dollars to be paid as herein after directed.
   Item, I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Julian Neaff three
hundred dollars to be paid as herein after directed and further I appoint my
son Daniel Funk guardian for the said Julian Neaff to receive the above
bequest for her and pay it over to her when she arrives at lawful age.
   Item,  I give and bequeath unto my three sons David, Joseph, and
Simon five horse creatures namely the dark brown mare, gray mere, old bay horse
 and the two largest colts
also three milk cows their choice after their mother has chosen Also the horse
--- two plows and one harr---- and the sheep without being appraised. I
further give and devise unto my three sons David Joseph & Simon their heirs and
assigns all that -------- or tenement situate lying and being in South
Huntington & North Huntington townships Westmoreland County, adjoining lands of
George Plumer and others containing 164 acres 38 perches strict measure as
appraised by a draft of survey made by Samuel Mc(Grew) in August 1826 in case
either of these my three sons David Funk Joseph Funk and Simon Funk should die
not having lawful ----- and before they arrive at lawful age then his share
shall decent to the other two or their heirs. Further it is my will and desire
that my executors herein after names do proceed and sell my mills with the land
attached to them by a survey mad in August 1826 by Samuel Mc(Grew) for the
highest and best price that can be gotten for the same, and to make and execute
a title in fee for the same to the purchaser or purchasers the same as I could
do myself if alive and present and out of the proceeds of the sale as aforesaid
my executors are to pay my funeral expenses and all my just debts out of my
personal estate undisposed of if there shall be so much remaining if not the
balance out of the sale of the Mills, and further I will and direct that my
executors pay the foregoing legacies out of the proceeds of sale of the Mill
property in equal proportions per ------ as the purchase money of sale of the
Mill comes into their hands if there shall be sufficient for that purpose if
not in proportion, and if there should be a surplus over paying said legacies
then it is to be divided among the aforesaid legacies in proportion to their
legacy sums, and lastly I appoint my trusty friend William Plumer and Adam
---sman Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby  revoking all
former Wills by me, made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal
the 23 day of Feb. 1835.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the above named Christian Funk to be
his last Will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his
presence have subscribed our names as witness thereunto.
