        In the name of God Amen:  I John Blair of the Township of
Fairfield in the County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being
of sound mind memory and understanding blefsed be God for all his
mercies, but considering the uncertainty of the continuation of life and
the hour of death I do hereby make and declare my last Will and Testament
in manner and form as follows viz.
First and principally I commend my soul unto Almighty God trusting for
Salvation through his Son, and my body to the dust to be buried in a
deacent and Christian like manner. And as to such worldly substance as it
has pleased God to blefs me with, I dispose of the same in the following
manner Viz.
        I will and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Barty a full and
comfortable support and maintainance off my real estate during the
continuance of her naturel life; And also the whole and exclusive use and
occupency of the house and gardin and our stable in the barn untill the
time of her death. I also will and bequeath unto her one horse creature,
her saddle & bridel, one cow. six sheep and keeping for them (to come off
my farm) together with all my household & kitchen furniture, except what
is herein after bequeathed unto my daughter Susan Ann. And at the time of
the death of my Wife, I will and bequeath all the property which I have
above bequeathed to her, and which shall be remaining at her death, to my
three daughters Isabella Allison[,] Elisa Trindle, and Susan Ann Blair,
to be equally devided between them share and share alike.
I will and bequeath unto my daughter Isabella Allison in adition to what
she has already got, the sum of five dollars.
I will & bequeath to my daughter Eliza Trindle, in adition to what she
has already got, a horse creature worth fifty dollars, and the sum of
five dollars in cash.
I will and bequeath unto my Daughter Susan Ann Blair one horse creature
worth fifty dollars - a good saddle & bridle. One cow and calf. Two beds,
bedsteads, & bedding. One Bureau, one Stand six chairs, one table, and
the same amount of draper and kitchen furniture her maried sisters have
got, and five dollars in cash.
I will and bequeath unto my son Robert Blair One dollar, and to his five
children Elizabeth. Sarah Ann. Isabella Jane. Mary Ellen and John William
Blair the sum of forty dollars each, to be paid to them as they arrive of
full age
I will and bequeath unto my son John Blair the sum of one dollar.
I will and bequeath unto my son James Blair one dollar, and to his four
children Barty Jane. George Washington. John Evans. and Eliza Blair forty
dollars each to be paid to them as they arrive at full age.
I will and bequeath unto my two sons Allexander Blair and William Blair
my farm whereon I now reside; Alexander to have all that part which lies
on the south side of the public road which runs from Andrew Grahams to
Derry, and William, All that lies on the north side of said road.
I will and direct that as soon as conveniantly can be after my decease,
my Executors (to be herein after named) shall sell the small piece of
land which I own, adjoining lands of James Reed and Alexander Blair (of
Alexr.) to the best advantage.  The proceeds of the sale thereof,
together with the sale of all my other personal property, which I have
not herein before bequeathed to my Wife and daughters, to be equally
divid between my two sons Allexander & William. Allexander is to pay the
legacies which I have herein before bequeathed to Robert Blair and his
children, to James Blair and his children. And my two sons Alexander &
William are each to pay an equal half of all the other legacies herein
before made, and each to be at equal expence in the settlements of my
Estate, my funeral Expenses, and the payment of my just debts. William is
to have the use of the one half of my barn untill he can conveniently
raise one for himself after my decease.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint John Hill Esq. my Executor of this
my last Will & Testament. Hereby revoking and disalowing all other wills
by me heretofore made, and establishing and declaring this to be my last
will & testament. In witnefs whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the
fourteenth day of February 1850

Codecil to the foregoing Will

On mature reflection I have concluded to make the following changes in
the foregoing Will Viz.

I will and bequeath unto my son Robert Blair instead of children the sum
of two hundred dollars.
And to my son James Blair instead of his children the sum of two hundred
dollars. Thus allowing the sum which I have bequeathed to the children of
Robert and James, to be paid to Robert and James themselves. My son
Alexander is to pay said legacies as is provided in the foregoing Will
within two years after my decease. In all other respects I wish said will
to remain unchanged. In witnefs whereof I hereunto set my hand the 10th
day of January 1854

        Before me E.I. Keenan Deputy Register of Wills in and for said
County personally came John Kennedy and Archibald Kennedy subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing written last Will and Testament and codicil
thereto of John Blair dec.d. who being duly sworn do say that they were
present and saw the said testator duly sign his name to the end of the
said last will and make his mark to the end of said codicil and heard him
declare the same to be his last will and Testament and codicil thereto
and at the time of so doing he was as they believe of sound and disposing
mind memory and understanding and that they signed their names as
witnesses thereto in his presence and at his request *
