In the name of God Amen the 23rd day of September in the 
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty 
three, I James CRAIG of the County of Westmoreland and 
Township of Derry being through the blessing of God, in a 
sound state of mind and memory but calling to mind the frail 
tenure of this life and that it is appointed to all men once 
to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, 
that is to say principally and first of all I recomend my 
soul to God who gave it me and disposal of my Body I leave 
to the entire discretion of my friends.  With respect to my 
worldly Estate I give bequeath and dispose of it in the 
manner and proportions here following.  First I give and 
bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Martha at my decease all 
my household furniture at the time of my death.  Also I give 
to my daughter Elisa one bed and beding and one Cow to be 
paid by my Executor at the time of my decease I give to my 
son James a Bald faced mare at my death.  I give and 
bequeath to my son Mathew all my land and the rest of my 
personable property and to pay out of that property all my 
debts and I make him my sole executor of this my last Will 
and Testament I hereby allow my dearly beloved wife Martha 
the use of a horse to ride when called on I therefore allow 
my son Mathew who is my Executor to keep my two youngest 
sons William and Harison (to?) the (arive?) at the age of 
fourteen years and and [sic] scholl them in reading and 
writing in the customary manner at that time to make choice 
of trades and (guardeins?) (?) all the rest of my children I 
do bequeath at my death the sum of one dollar to each of 
them I do here by utterly disalow revoke and disanull all 
and every other former testaments wills legacies and 
Executors by me in any way before named willed and 
bequeathed confirming this my last will and Testament.  In 
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day 
and year above writen.  Witness present.  James McCLURE,

Legally proved and approved the 22nd day of August AD 1836.  Same
day recorded.
