New Castle News, February 6, 1922
John Marshall, aged 81 years, died at his home in Wampum today, at
noon following an illness of one week.  Announcement of the funeral will be
made later."

OBITUARY: [New Castle News, February 7, 1922]
     "Funeral services for the late John Marshall of Wampum will be held
from the Wampum Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.
Rev. H. E. Woods will be in charge and interment will be made in Oak Park
cemetery, this city.
     Mr. Marshall was the son of the late David and Margaret Davidson
Marshall, pioneer settlers of Wayne township and was 81 years of age.  He
was a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian church an and served as elder
until fifteen years ago when he came to Wampum where he became united with
the Wampum Presbyterian church.  He had a combined eldership in the two
churches of thirty seven years.  Besides his wife he is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hazen of Frisco, Pa., and one son, E. [D.] M.
Marshall of Wampum.
