New Castle News, April 1908
Andrew Fehrenbach, 78 years old, a retired blacksmith,
died unexpectedly at his home 706 Morrison street yesterday
afternoon of a stroke of paralysis. While he had been ailing
for a considerable time, he seemed no worse than usual until
yesterday morning when he suffered a paralytic stroke and
died a few hours later. Mr. Fehrenbach had been a resident
of New Castle 39 years and was very well known, especially
among the citizens of German extraction. For many years he
followed the trade of blacksmith, but retired some time ago
when he began to fail under the weight of years. His wife
died seven years ago. Twelve children, seven daughters and
five sons survive. These are Mrs. Chipert (Schippert), Mrs.
Rosch (Rosche) and Mrs. Snyd (Schneider) of Pittsburg;
Sister Gabriel of the order of the Sisters of Divine
Providence of St. Joseph's convent, East Liberty; Joseph
Fehrenbach of Youngstown; Fred and Albert of Sharon and Mrs.
Williamson, Mrs. Heller , Mrs. Sewald, Edward and Andrew of
this city. Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Fehrenbach
will be said at St. Joseph's church of which he was a
member, at nine o'clock tomorrow morning and the burial will
be in the church cemetery.
