LEETONIA, Ohio Robert G. Marshall, Sr., 76, of 10 W. Main 
St. died at noon Tuesday at his home following a short 
illness. He was born March 13, 1921, in Leetonia, son of the 
late Harry O. and Mary Ann Hall Marshall, and was a lifelong 
area resident. Mr Marshall was employed as a machinist at 
the NRM Corp in Columbiana for 30 years, retiring in 1983. 
He had served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 
Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. Jacob's United 
Church of Christ and the Columbiana Lions Club, where he 
received several awards including the Melvin Jones Award. He 
was a life member of the York Drexler Post 5532 VFW of 
Washingtonville, and was a member of the Joe Williams Post 
131 American Legion and Oakdale Cemetery Board.  He was also 
a former member of the Columbiana Police Auxiliary. His 
wife, the former Mary Jane Liston, whom he married April 15, 
1943, died Dec. 6, 1995.  He is survived by three daughters, 
Mrs. Ronald (Melissa) Brown of Columbiana, Mrs. Rickey 
(Becky) Wilson of Sands, Mich., and Mrs. Sue Marshall of 
Leetonia, a son Robert G. Marshall, Jr. of Leetonia;  a 
sister, Mrs. James (Clara Bell) Baker of Columbiana; nine 
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was also 
preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lois Garlough; and a 
brother, Raymond  Marshall. Services will be held at 11 a.m. 
Thursday at the Woods Rettig Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen 
Broache of the church officiating. Burial will be made in 
Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 today at the 
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the 
Columbiana Lions Club.
