Price sharimprice@softhome.net January 25, 2024, 9:56 am The New Castle News, (PA), 04-01-1980 PULASKI - Russell Gail McCreary, Jr., 20, of RD1, died at 9:30 a.m. March 31, 1980 at Reactive Metals and Alloys Corp. His death was the result of a fire and explosion at the plant. He was born March 28, 1960 to Russell Gail McCreary, Sr. who preceded him in death in 1975 and Evelyn Heath McCreary who survives at Lowellville RD2. Mr. McCreary was employed as an induction furnace helper at Reactive Metals and Alloys Corp since January 1979. He attended Mohawk Area High School and was graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech High School in 1978. A resident of Pulaski for a year and a half, he was raised in Mahoning Township on Ambrosia Road. He attended Edinburg Christian Church. In addition to his mother he is survived by one sister, Marci of Lowellville RD2: and grandparents, Mrs. Helen McCreary of Lowellville RD2 and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Heath of Edinburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 244 McGill St. Lowellville, Ohio. A service at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home will be conducted by David Snyder, pastor of Edinburg Christian Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Bedford.
