Charles McCreary, 79, of 730 Erie St., died of diabetes at 
12:15 a.m. Sunday in Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital after a 
long illness. Mr. McCreary was born July 13, 1882 in 
Hillsville, PA., a son of Miller and Melissa Jane Kelly 
McCreary and came to Youngstown in 1935 from Poland.  He was 
employed as a plant guard at Astatic Corp before his 
retirement in 1948.  He was a member of the First Free 
Methodist Church. Besides his wife, the former Clara 
Rohrbaugh, whom he married in 1906, Mr. McCreary leaves four 
sons, Everett of Struthers, Earl of Cincinnati, Warren of 
Youngstown and Kenneth of Willow Springs, ILL; three 
daughters, Mrs. Marie Aunkst, Mrs. Gladys Kingsley of 
Detroit and Mrs. Hazel Mohr of East Palestine; a sister Mrs. 
Elsie Downs of Kalamazoo, Mich; 13 grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. 
Wednesday at the D. A. Davidson Funeral Home, Struthers 
where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
