New Castle News (PA), June 20, 1953
Joseph McCreary, aged 75, of 198 Perry street, Struthers, 
Ohio, died Friday at 3 p.m., following an illness of one 
year's duration.  Death occurred at North Side Unit hospital 
in Youngstown. Born, February 7, 1878 in Joy, Ill. he was a 
son of Joseph and Melissa Kelly McCreary.  He was employed 
before his retiral, for 37 years, with the Carbon Limestone 
Company.  He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was 
preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Cearfoss 
McCreary, June 20, 1942 and by a son, Herbert in 1942. 
Surviving are his children:  Mrs. Melissa Chappell, this 
city; Mrs. Ruth Williams, of Girard, Ohio; Mrs. Minnie 
Johnson, Struthers; Mrs. Dorothy Enoch, this city; three 
sons, Cecil of Detroit; Joseph, Washington, D.C.; and James, 
of Port Arthur, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Liston of 
Youngstown; Mrs. Ralph Downs, Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, 
Charles McCreary, Youngstown;  20 grandchildren and three 
great grandchildren. Services will be held at the Cunningham 
funeral home in Lowellville, on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. 
Harry Johnson, formerly of Simpson Methodist Church this 
city, officiating.  Interment will be in Lowellville 
cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and 
Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
