Price sharimprice@softhome.net January 25, 2024, 8:07 am New Castle News (PA), 12-11-1908 Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Hammond) McGraw, wife of J. C. McGraw of 1004 North Beaver street, died about 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Shenango Valley hospital. She had been ill some time, suffering from cancer, and an operation was performed about two weeks ago, but failed to prolong her life. Mrs. McGraw was born in 1857, and was 55 years of age. She was a member of the First M. E. church. She was twice married, her first husband, James H. Hammond, dying in 1892. One daughter, Miss Bessie Hammond, survives in addition to the husband, J. C. McGraw and two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Davis of Warren, Pa. and Mrs. Anna McFate of Youngstown, also two brothers, J. C. McCreary of Youngstown, and James McCreary, living near Lowellville. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at King's Chapel, and interment will be made in King's Chapel cemetery. Additional Comments: Originally submitted May 2004.
