New Castle News (PA), August 3, 1908
An injury sustained several years ago is attributed as the
cause of the death at Hillsville Sunday of Miller McCreary,
for years one of the most widely known citizens of that
community. About five years ago, while employed as car
shipper at the quarries, Mr. McCreary was caught beneath a
couple of cars and was severely crushed. Internal injuries
troubled him from that time forth and resulted in a pressure
on his lungs. That pressure is attributed directly as the
cause of death Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The deceased
was something more than 60 years of age. and is survived by
his wife; four sons, Joseph of Hillsville, Charles of
Bessemer, and Carl and Martin at home, and two daughters,
Mrs. Lydia Daman of New Castle, and Elsie at home. Funeral
services will be held at the home of the deceased on Tuesday
at 2 o'clock and interment will be in the Lowellville
cemetery.
