Price sharimprice@softhome.net January 24, 2024, 4:15 pm The New Castle News, New Castle, PA, 02-20-1947 Former Manager of Gibbs Peoples Service Store, this City, Expires Suddenly Local relatives have received a message, telling of the death of Hugh McCreery, on Wednesday evening after a heart attack while at work at the Gibbs Peoples Service Store, Inc. Ambridge, where he was employed as manager. Mr. McCreery, who had been ill for two months was manager of Gibbs store, this city, until moving four years ago to Baden, Pa., to accept his new position at Ambridge. While residing in New Castle, Mr. McCreery attended Highland U.P. Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Hamilton McCreery, one son, Hugh McCreery, Jr., three brothers, Everett McCreery, Carl and Lee McCreery, both of Bolivar and several cousins in New Castle. Everett McCreery who has been in Assiut, Egypt, is en route home having stopped to visit at New Zealand. He plans to leave there February 28. Friends are being received this evening and Friday evening at the Matter funeral home, Church street, Ambridge. The body will be removed to the United Presbyterian church, Fairfield, Pa., where funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
