  MIFFLIN TRACKMAN KILLED BY ENGINE
John O. Kennedy, Aged 41, Fatally Hurt While Walking on Pennsy Track

John O. Kennedy, aged 41, of Mifflin, a track watchman employed on
the Pennsy Middle division, was run down and fatally injured at 8.55
o'clock last evening, by an empty engine, and died twenty-five minutes
  afterward.
Kennedy was walking east on No. 4 track and evidently failed to see
or hear Mifflin yard engine 1756, westbound, approaching. He was
tossed to an adjoining track, where he was picked up by the engine crew
and taken to Mifflin. Company Surgeon D. M. Crawford attended Kennedy
who failed to regain consciousness and death came a short time after
surgical attention was secured. The Mifflin [sic] county coroner was
  notified of the accident.
Kennedy was married and leaves a wife and several children. The
accident happened about one-fourth mile west of Mifflin station. The
watchman had been employed by the Pennsy several years.
