In the name of God, Amen.  I, Sylvenus Austin of the town of Bath in the
County of Steuben and State of New York, of the age of seventy one years, and
being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish + declare this my last will +
testament, in the manner following that is to say.

First.  I do hereby will + direct that my executor herein after named and
appointed, shall and (illegible) as soon after my decease as may be consistent
and proper sell dispose of and convert into money, or other ready and
available means . my personal estate and effects, or so much thereof as may be
necessary and sufficient to pay off, satisfy, and discharge my debts,
financial exp .., and other charges, necessary and proper, to be so paid, and
to pay off satisfy and discharge the same accordingly.

Second. I do hereby will and give and bequeath to my wife Mary M. Austin, all
and singular the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects
together with all and singular my real estate, of whatever kind or nature, or
wheresoever the same may lie, for and during her natural life.

Third.  At and after the death of my said wife Mary M., I give and bequeath to
my sons, Peter, Robert, Samuel and William, and my daughters, Clarinda, now
wife of Joseph Daymouth, Catharine, now wife of Seth Van Kuren, Hannah, now
wife of John Canfield, and Rebecca J., now wife of Franklin Ellison; all and
singular the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate and
effects aforesaid, to be equally divided, and distributed between my said
heirs before mentioned sons and daughters share and share alike.

And Lastly.  I do hereby appoint my friend and son Peter Austin, Executor of
this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other will by me made.  In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of
November in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty seven.
