Will No. 1668 of Jacob Groves - Will Book 3, page 196

I Jacob Groves of Whitely Township Greene County and State of
Pennsylvania considering the uncertainty of This life do make this my
last will and testament as follows (to wit)
1st.  My will is that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.
2nd.  I give and bequeath unto my three daughters Elizabeth, Margaret &
Eliza to be divided between share and share alike all my houshould (sic)
and kitchen furniture & two cows each.
3rd.  I also give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the sum of one
hundred dollars in addition to item second.
4th.  I give and bequeath unto the children of my son Levi the sum of
three hundred and forty nine dollars it being monies advanced by me and
monies due me on the sale of lands sold to the said Levi Groves.
5th.  I give and bequeath unto my Three daughters, Elizabeth, Margaret &
Eliza in addition to the amt. in item second & third, one horse each to
be worth forty five dollars or that amount to be paid to them in cash.
6th.  My will is as to the balance of my effects both real and personal
that it be sold by my Executors and divided equally amongst all my
children to be divided between them share and share alike.
7th and lastly I appoint & make my two sons William Grove and Jesse Grove
my executors of this my last will and testament, Given under my hand and
seal this 27th day of November A.D. 1855.

This day before me Absalom Hedge, Register for the probate of wills and
granting Letters of Administration within and for the County aforesaid
personally came Mark Gordon and Keener Strosnider The Subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing will, who bring duly affirmed according to Law
do say that they were present, and saw and heard .....Jacob Grove, The
Testator, sign by his mark as appears above, seal publish anddeclare the
foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament,
and that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind, memory and
understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief; and that they
signed the same as witnessesthereto at his request and inhis presence and
in the presence of rsvh other.

Same day Letters Testamentary granted to Executors named in the will.
Inventory filed.

On the left-hand margin of this will were these two notations:
Exrs. file rect. of Jesse Orndoff, Guardian of Margaret and Eliza Groves
dated Feb'y 27, 1856 for the cows and household furniture left to his
Wards in this will.

Received from William Grove one of the Exrs. of Jacob Grove dec'd, the
cows & household furniture left to Elizabeth, Margaret & Eliza Grove in
the 2nd item of the will of said decedent Feb'y 27, 1856.
