Will of James Eagon  April 25th, 1817.  Registered 28th Nov. 1821

Will Book #1, Greene County, PA 

In the name of God Amen, I James Eagon of Jefferson township in Greene County 
Pennsylvania being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding tho infirm 
in body do make this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others by 
me previously made.  

Imprimis  My will  is that I be buryed in a decent Christian  like manner at 
the discretion of my Exctrs. herein after named -- 

Item,  I will that all my just debts be paid immediately after my decease -- 

Item,  I  bequeath and devise unto my son Barnet Eagon, his heirs & assigns 
forever all my tract of land situate in Jefferson township aforesaid adjoining 
lands of  Samuel Hathaway, Bernet Rhinehart, Nathaniel Hughes & others 
containing about three hundred acres more or less -- 

Item  I will and devise that my Executors as soon as convenient after my 
decease do sell and convey for the best price that can be gotten for the 
same.  All that house and Lot of ground situate on high street in the town of 
Waynesburg numbered One hundred & twenty nine adjoining James Workmans lot on 
the west to, and that the price thereof be equally divided between my son 
Barnet Eagon & my three daughters Cassy House, Sarah Adamson, & Margaret 
Anderson. 

 Item  I will and bequeath that all the personal estate of which I may died 
possessed after payment of debts & expenses be equally divided between my 
three daughters  -  Cassy House, Sarah Adamson, and Margaret Anderson except 
my wearing apparel which I bequeath unto my grandson James Eagon. 

 Lastly, -- I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Barnet Eagon sole 
Executor of this my last Will and testament given under my hand and seal April 
25th, 1817.

Signed, sealed, pronounced, published, and declared by the said   James Eagon 
to be his last Will & testament in our presence who have witnessed the same in 
his presence and in the presence of each other.

Greene County SS.  On the twenty third day of November Anno Domini 1821
before me Wm T. Hays, Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of
Administration in and for the county of Greene aforesaid personally appeared 
Andrew Buchanan Esqr. and George Taylor, two of the subscribing witnesses as 
to the within Will and in their solemn Oaths respectively declared that they 
were present and saw and heard James Eagon the testator above named, sign,
publish, and declare the said writing as and for his last Will and testament 
and at the time of doing thereof he was of sound and disposing mind, memory, 
and understanding according to the best of their knowledge observation and
belief.

Registered 28th Nov. 1821.  And letters granted to Barnet Eagon same day.
