Nicholas ALTIMUS

Son of David and Sallie (Pedicord) Altimus, deceased, was born in Plumville, PA, 
Jan 9, 1833.  His wife was born in Indiana county, PA Oct 22, 1842, and their 
marriage was consummated in that county Aug 23, 1860.  Her name was Cordelia 
Wolf, and she was a daughter of Dearmin and Catherine Wolf, deceased.  Of this 
union were born William, dec., Sallie A., John, dec., Nicholas A., Peter W., 
Alvin S., Katie B., Frank, Mary E., David, Edward, Alexander and Clara C.  
Comrade Altimus served his country faithfully and well during the late war of 
the Rebellion.  He was 31 years of age when he was enrolled Sept 7, 1864 at 
Braddock Fields, PA as a private in Co F, 206th PA V.I. He was confined in a 
field hospital a few days.  He took active part in all engagements of his 
command and was honorably discharged at Richmond, VA June 26, 1865.  He passed 
away Nov 25, 1890, death resulting from a complication of diseases.  His 
brothers, William and David, served in PA regiments. Comrade Altimus has been 
school director and overseer of the poor.  His widow has a pension and her 
address is Glenglade, PA.
