The Will of Leonard GARRISON, Sr. 
No. 369. Will of Leonard Garrison Dec'd.

In the name of God Amen, I Leonard Garrison of Dunkard 
Township in the county of Green [sic] in the state of 
Pennsylvania yeoman being sick and weak in body but of sound 
mind, memory and understanding blessed be God for the same 
but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do 
make and publish this my last will and testament in mannor 
[sic] and form following to wit principally and first of all 
I Commend my immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it 
and my body to the earth to be buried in a christian like 
manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named 
and to such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to 
bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the 
following manner to wit; Item  I give and devise unto my son 
Jonathan One hundred dollars, Item 2d  I give and devise 
unto my daughter Barbara Nicely Seventy five dollars, Item 
3d  I give and devise unto my daughter Elizabeth Hoover 
Seventy five dollars  Item 4th  I give and devise unto my 
daughter Rebeca [sic] Blaser one hundred dollars Item 5th  
My will further is that all the above gifts and bequests 
shall not be given paid or become due untill [sic] my son 
Reson [sic] arrives to the age of twenty one years or within 
one year afterwards. And as touching all the rest residue 
and remainder of my estate real and personal of what kind or 
nature soever the same may be in the county of Green [sic] 
aforesaid or else where I give and devise the same unto my 
dear wife Elizabeth to be under her orders and controle 
[sic] for the purpose of using and farming the real estate 
but not to do any damage thereto untill [sic] my son Reason 
arrives to be sixteen years old dureing [sic] all which time 
from and after my decease she my said wife must from the 
profits and produce of my lands and the use of my horses 
Cows sheep and swine with what money I now have and what 
shall be got hereafter on Judgements bonds notes Book 
accounts or other wise keep and support maintain cloath 
[sic] board and lodge and wash for and Sufficiently educate 
all and every one of my five sons to wit, Lot David Daniel 
Leonard and Reason after my debts and funeral expences [sic] 
have been paid out of my money and it is my will further 
that my wife must endeavor to keep as good stock of horses 
Cattle Sheep and Swine on the plantation at all times untill 
[sic] the same is sold as they [???]  are by reising [sic] 
young creatures of each kind and from and immediately after 
my son Reason shall arive [sic] to be Sixteen years old I 
give and devise of the same unto my five children Lot, David 
Daniel Leonard + Reason the survivor or survivors of them 
and the heirs of such survivor or survivors equally to be 
divided between and therefore it is my will that when my son 
Reason arrives to be sixteen  years of age all my estate 
real and personal shall be sold by my executors herein after 
named except one third part of my household furniture which 
I give and devise unto my loving wife and the money which 
shall be got for the residue of my personal and real estate 
to be equally divided between my five sons to wit, Lot, 
David, Daniel, Leonard, and Reson [sic] after the [sic] 
arive [sic] to be twenty one years old, and it is my will 
further that my five sons Lot David Daniel Leonard and Reson 
[sic] shall be bound apprentices to good trades when __ 
years old respectively. And lastly I nominate constitute and 
appoint my trusty friends George Garison [sic] and James 
Williamson both of Dunkard township in the County of Green 
[sic] aforesaid to be executors of this my will hereby 
revoking all other wills Legacies and bequests by me 
heretofore made and declare this and no other to be my last 
will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and seal this twenty fifth day of March in the year of 
Our Lord Ano [sic] domini One thousand eight hundred and sixteen.

Leonard Garrison

Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said 
Testator as his last will and testament in the presence of 
us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed as 
witnesses. All the interlineations were made before signing.

On the 23d day of April 1819 before me Wm. G. Hawkins acting 
Clerk for Wm. T. Hays Register for the Probate of Wills &c. 
in and for the said County personally appeared David Jones 
and Jacob Garrison two of the subscribing witnesses to the 
within Will and on their solemn Oath and affirmation did 
declare that they were present and saw and heard Leonard 
Garrison the Testator within named sign, seal, publish + 
declare the said Will as and for his last will and testament 
and that at the time of doing thereof he was of sound and 
disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their 
knowledge observation and belief; and that they saw Matthew 
Campbell the other subscribing witness subscribe his name 
thereto.

Wm. G. Hawkins

Registered 3rd March 1821 And letters testamentary granted 
to James Williamson May 1821 George Garrison having filed 
his renunciation bearing date 10th June 1820.
