WILL OF John SMOUSE/SCHMAUS (1794)

The last will and testament of Johannes Schmaus: (note to reader: I, the
transcriber, did my best to copy the words as written and spelled in the original)

This is my last Will and Testament.  My son, Peter SMOUSE forty pounds, my son
George Adam 
SMOUSE forty pounds, my daughter Cataran RICHEY forty pounds, my daughter Suzanna
CUNSE forty 
pounds, my son David SMOUSE forty pounds, my daughter Odelan CUNSE forty pounds, my
plantation 
to be left to my two youngest sons Michael and Charles SMOUSE by paying of the above
somes until thay 
are all of age my widdow Dority SMOUSE is to have all ____ in her hands during her
Widow my wife 
Dority SMOUSE and Peter SMOUSE I leve Executors of my astate all dates to be ___
to  my Widdow and 
none of my property to be sold.  I hope after my dath then my will to stand good.
August the 16th day of 
1794.

Bedford County, Pa.  On the fourth day of October in the Year of our lord one
thousand seven hundred 
and ninety four personally came before me the Subscriber Register for the probate of
Wills and Granting 
Letters of Administration in and for the County of Bedford, the Subscribing
witnesses to the within 
Instrument of Writing, Adam KUNTZ, John Theodor HOFFIUS?, and John BAGLEY, who being
duly 
sworn according to Law did declare and say that they were personally present and
heard and saw the 
within named John SMOUSE the Testator sign the within Instrument of Writing and that
he did publish 
and pronounce the same as and for his last Will and Testament that at the time of
Doing the same he the 
said John SMOUSE the Testator was of sound and Desposing Mind and Memory, according
to the best of 
these Deponent's Knowledge and belief and that they subscribed their names thereto
as Witnesses to the 
Execution thereof in the presence of the Testator and at his Request.
