The last Will and Testament of Jacob Ritchey of Providence Township, Bedford 
County, I Jacob Ritchey considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and 
being of sound mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same do make and 
publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to 
say -- First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Polly Ritchey is to have 
and hold all my real estate and personal property as long as she liveth if she 
shall so long continue my widow and from and after her decease my real estate 
and personal property is to be equally divided among my children share and share 
alike -- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourteenth 
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named
Jacob Ritchey to be his last will and testament in the presence of us
who at his request and in his presence, have subscribed our
names as witnesses hereunto.

John Weight, John Roller, Andrew Snoeberger

Bedford County, SS.

Personally appeared before the Register for the Probate of Wills &c for said 
county, John Weight and John Roller, two of the subscribing witnesses to the 
within instrument of writing who being sworn according to law do depose and say 
that they were present and saw the testator Jacob Ritchey sign his name to the 
same by making his mark and heard him pronounce & declare said instrument of 
writing to be his last will and testament, that he desired them to sign their 
names together with Andrew Snowberger the other subscribing witness thereto, as 
witnesses thereto, and at the time of so doing he the said testator was of sound 
mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge & belief.
