I George R Oster being of sound mind and memory and understanding But sick and weak in
body make this codicil to my last will and testament, and desire the same be taken and
considered part thereof. In disposing of my residuary estate I have provided that the
same should be divided to my brothers in equal shares, one share to the children of my
deceased brother Jacob. I did not mean thereby that any portion of my estate should go
to my brother Valentine: I do not give any portion thereof. For the reason that I do not
know whether he is living or dead, whether he has left any issue, not having heard from
him for more than fifteen years: and I do not wish the distribution of my estate to be
delayed or disturbed by hunting over the world for a brother long since lost to me.
I desire and do so order that any and all collateral inheritance taxes that may be
chargeable against my bequeaths to The German Reformed Congregation for church and
parsonages, for support of its minister and for the Sunday school, be paid out of my
residuary estate before it is divided so that said bequeath be preserved whole for the
user intended and be not lessened in amount.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of January
A.D.1881.
                                                             G. R. Oster (Seal)

The foregoing codicil published and declared by the testator to be a portion of his
last will and testament, in our presence and desired us to be witnesses to the same and
to his signing the same, which he did in our presence and this attestation we have signed
at his request and in his presence and the presence of each other.

                                                               W. H. Gilebrist
                                                               F. B. Marbourg
