Moore, James (Bedford County Pennsylvania Will Book #4, Page 227)

In the name of God Amen, I James Moore of St. Clair Township, Bedford County, 
Pennsylvania being at present of sound and disposing mind, memory and 
understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner and form 
following. First, I order and desire of my executors hereinafter named to pay 
and discharge all my funeral expenses out of the first funds that may come to 
their hands as soon as practicable after my decease. Secondly, it is my will and 
I order and direct my executors as soon as may be practicable and prudent after 
my decease to sell and dispose of all my personal estate. Thirdly, it is my 
desire and further order and direct my executors at a convenient time after my 
decease to sell and convey in fee Simple all my real estate for the highest 
price that may be obtained. I order and direct and my will is that the money on 
hand and obligations together with all the money arising from the sale of my 
personal and real estate shall be equally divided, as it comes to the hand of my 
executors among my eight children, namely, John, Sarah intermarried with Joseph 
Griffith, Joseph, Elizabeth intermarried with William Crisman, Nancy 
intermarried with Harman Gillaspy, Emily intermarried with Jackson Crisman, 
Abraham and George share and Share alike. It is my will and desire that the 
disposition I have made of my estate shall be conclusive and satisfactory to all 
concerned. I therefore hereof order and it is my will that should any one of my 
said children be dis-Satisfied and endeavor to break otherwise contest this my 
will, that this the Share of Such child or children shall be divided amongst my 
other children named, and he or they shall be forever excluded, and debarred 
from any portions of my estate. Lastly I hereof constitute and appoint my Nephew 
Abraham Blackburn and my Son in law Joseph Griffith to be the Executors of this 
my last will and testament hereof also revoking all other wills by me heretofore 
made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament. In 
writing thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of February 
A.D. 1859.

   Personally appeared before the Register for the Probate of Wills, in and for 
said county Andrew Crisman and Peter Imler Subscribing witnesses to the 
foregoing instrument of writing who being duly sworn according to law do depose 
and Say that they were present and Saw the testator James Moore sign his name 
thereto and heard him pronounce and declare Said instrument of writing to be his 
last will and testament, that he desired them to sign their names as witnesses 
thereto, and that at that time of so doing he the Said testator was of sound 
mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, belief and 
understanding.

Be it remembered that on the 15th day of April A.D. 1859 Letters Testamentary 
were issued to Abram. Blackburn and Joseph Griffith Executors in the foregoing 
will named they having been said duly sworn according to law.

James'wife, the former Ann Winegardner, had apparently predeceased him. His 
father was Abraham Moore.
