JOHN LEASURE

Written: April 26, 1868

In the name of God Amen I John Leasure of Bedford Township in the County of 
Bedford and State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, being of sound mind, memory, and 
understanding do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner 
and form following: -- first I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife 
Rachael Leasure the farm on which we now reside situate with Township 
aforesaid and containing One hundred and fifty acres or thereabouts Together 
with all the live stock, horses, cattle, sheep, swine, tc. By me now owned and 
kept thereon and all the household furniture and other items not particularly 
named and otherwise disposed of in this will to have and to hold the said 
message and appurtenances and said goods and chattels for and during her 
natural life and at the death of my said wife all the property hereby devised 
or bequeathed to her as aforesaid or so much Thereof as may then remain 
unexpended I give and devise unto my five children three boys and two girls 
John, Mary, Peter, Alexander, and Annie, share and share alike Their heirs and 
assigns for ever Second, I give and devise unto my Eldest son John his heirs 
and assigns for ever after the death of my beloved wife Rachael the farm so 
bequeathed to her by me as aforesaid The farm together with the live stock, 
horses, cattle, tc. And all the household furniture tc. To be appraised and he 
my son John as aforesaid to pay four fifths of the amount of the appraisement 
to my other four children Mary, Peter, Alexander, and Annie each to Receive 
one fifth of the amount so appraised Third But in case my son John should not 
wish to take the farm as bequeathed to him as aforesaid then my son Peter to 
have it and to pay four fifths of the amount of the appraisement as aforesaid 
to my other four children as aforesaid each to receive one fifth as aforesaid 
and lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Rachel and my son John 
to be Executrix & Executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I John Leasure the Testator have hereunto set my hand and 
seal this twenty sixth day of April A.D. One Thousand Eight hundred and Sixty 
eight.

	Personally appeared before the undersigned Register further for the 
Probate of Wills tc in and for said County John A Cessna and William H. Boor. 
Subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing who being duly 
sworn do depose and say that they were present and saw the Testator Jno 
Leasure sign his name to the same by making his mark and heard him pronounce 
and declare it to be his last will and testament that he desired them to sign 
their names as witnesses thereto and that at the time of so doing he the said 
Testator was of sound and disposing mind memory & understanding to the best of 
their knowledge and belief
