        In the name of God Amen, I David Jay of Bedford County being in
my right mind do make and pronounce this my last will and testament all
my property real personal and mixed it is my wish that my executors
herein after named shall dispose of to the best advantage and as they
think proper, out of the proceeds of which all my just debts are to be
paid together with my funeral expenses and the residue whatever it may
be, I will and bequeath to Mary Bowers her heirs or assigns and I request
that William Proctor Junr. and William Watson both of Bedford County be
my executors.

Bedford County SS:      Personally appeared before me the subscriber
Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of administration
in and for said County, John Henry and Charles McLain the subscribing
witnesses to the within instrument in writing who being duly sworn do
depose and say that they were personally present and saw David Jay the
testator, sign the within instrument in writing by making his mark that
at the time of signing it same as aforesaid, the said testator was of
sound and disposing mine memory and understanding according to the best
of the deponents knowledge and beliefs and that they subscribed their
names thereto as witnesses in presence of the testator, Sworn and
Subscribed this 25 day of March AD 1818.

Be it remembered that on the fifteenth day of April A.D. 1818 Letters
testamentary was granted to William Proctor Jr. and William Watson
executors in the foregoing will named they having been first duly sworn
according to law.
