Last Will and Testament of Hannah Crisman

In the name of God Amen I Hannah Crisman of the Township of Bedford being
sick & weak in body but of perphet memory and understanding. Thanks be to
God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that
it is appointed for all people once to die do make, ordain and publish this
my last Will & Testament. That is to say principally and first of all, I
give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it & As
for my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a christian and decent
like manner at the discresion of my executors hereinafter named and as to
such woldy estate of which I am at this time possesed I give Devise &
dispose of the same in the following manner. First I will and bequeath unto
my son William Crisman one brass candlestick three yards of lining now in
the house and one quart wine bottle. 2nd I will and bequeath unto my
son-in-law Jacob Flagle one large bible and one large prayer book. 3rd  I
will unto my son Jeremiah Crisman one Desk one pare stilyards one pare fire
irons, one pare tongs, one large iron Pott Vone Gardin how. 4th  I will and
bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Crisman one cow and calf one pare
of bedsteds together with one feather bed sheets blankist Coverlids and all
other things thereunto belonging and she is to have her choice of the
bedsteds also one old chest with what belongs to her therein one looking
glass my spinning wheel one pare coton cards one iron pot her choyce one
large smoothing iron two ewes together with all the flannel yarn that
belongs to me. 5th And as for the remaining part of my household furniture
not being herein disposed of I direct and it is my will that the same may be
equally divided between my six daughters Sarah, Cathrine, Mary, Rachel,
Hannah & Ruth and if the same cannot be divided to Satisfaction I direct my
executors hereinafter named to expose the same to publick sale and to divide
the amount thereof as before after my funeral
Expence is taken out of the same. And I do hereby constitute nominate &
appoint my trusty friends Henry Kunce and Richard Silver Executors of this
my last will hereby revoking all other will or wills heretofore made by me
in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Sale this first day of
March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen

Bedford County. Personally appeared before me the subscriber Register for
the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said
County, Joshua Pierson Esquire and John Herbaugh the subscribing witnesses
to the foregoing instrument in writing who being both duly affirmed do
declare and say that they were personally present and heard and saw Hannah
Crisman the testarise sign seal and declare the foregoing instrument in
writing as and for her last Will and Testament that at the same time of
doing thereof the said testatrise was of sound and disposing mind, memory
and understanding according to the best of the affirmants knowledge and
belief & that they subscribed as witnesses in presence of the testatrix
Affirmed and Subscribed this 15th day of April A.D. 1815

Be it remembered that on the 15th day of April A.D. 1815 Letters
Testamentary were granted to Henry Kunce & Richard Silver Executors in the
foregoing will named they having first been duly sworn according to law.
