JAY, MARGARET, 1864, v. 4, p. 441
Personally appeared Naomi Iams [Janes?] of Southampton Twp.
who was present at the death of Margaret Jay which occurred
on the Seventh day of November A.D. 1864 at the house of
Thomas Kin*** in said township, where she resided some three
months prior to her death. . .that said Margaret Jay was
seized with sudden and severe illness some nine days before
her death, being on a Saturday morning, and on Monday one
week thereafter she died, and being so seized with severe
illness whilst I was supporting her she called Dr. J. P.
Call to her side and desired him and myself to bear witness
that she desired to make disposition of her property, which
she did in these words "I want the charges of my sickness
and burial paid and the remainder of my property I will to
Anna Wigfield." To this declaration she desired us both to
bear witness that the same was her will, deceased then
lingered in severe sickness, until she died.
