E. J. Warren Dies - Former Councilman

 Edward J. Warren, 216 Grove St, Avoca, a former borough councilman, died 
Saturday night in Pittston Hospital after an illness.  His widow is the former 
Mary Louise Pollard.
 Born in Avoca, son of the late Charles J. and Jane Marshall Murdock Warren, he 
was a member of Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, Avoca.  He was a retired employe 
of Moffatt Coal Co., Scranton, and a member of the Junior Order, United American 
Mechanics, Avoca.
 Also surviving are a son James, Winstead, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn 
Tabak, Winstead, and Mrs. Joyce Ramage, West Pittston; five grandchildren; a 
sister, Mrs. Sarah Francis, Avoca, and several nieces and nephews.
  A sister, Mrs. Agnes Paterson, Avoca, died in April.
 The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Morton Funeral Home, 913 Plane 
St Avoca, with services by the Rev. James Lumsden, St John's Primitive Methodist 
Church, Avoca.  Internment, Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca.  Viewing 2 to 4 and 7 to 
10 p.m.

Warren Rites Held

  The funeral of Edward J. Warren, 236 Grove St. was Tuesday from the Morton 
Funeral Home, 913 Plane St.  The Rev. James Lumsden, St. John's Primitive 
Methodist Church, officiated.
  Pallbearers: Warner Alexander, Kenneth Bartlett, Marshall Bosley, Franklin 
Pollard, Ronald Ramge, and Charles Woolever, Sr. Interment, Langcliffe 
Presbyterian Cemetery, Avoca.
