Newtown Township


   ELEAZER F. CHURCH publisher, P.O. Newtown, was born in 
the township of Buckingham, this county, in 1820. At an 
early age he entered the printing office of the "Doylestown 
Democrat" to learn the business.  In 1850 he removed to 
Maryland and published a newspaper in Baltimore county for 
seventeen years. In 1868 he returned to Bucks county and 
established the "Newtown Enterprise," which he still 
publishes.  He has three sons and two daughters.  Two of his 
sons are printers and are engaged with him in the business 
of the paper.  His eldest son, William, is in the baking 
business in Newtown.
