HENRY APPLEBACH deceased, was born in Haycock township in
1818, and died in 1865. He was the second son of Daniel and
Catherine (Apple) Applebach. He married Sarah Jane,
daughter of James Ely, of Monroe county. The result of this
union was four children: Hannah Camille, the wife of Rev.
J. S. Stahe, of Freedensburg; Jennie, who was born in 1860;
and James H. and Daniel. Mr. Applebach was an active
businessman, and was engaged principally as a dealer in
stock, which he carried on successfully in connection with
his brother Paul. Miss Hannah, a sister of the above, is
the youngest and only remaining female member of this
family. She was born in 1828, and remained with her parents
until the age of 23, when she lived with her brother Paul,
and now is the owner of the homestead. Miss Jennie, the
youngest daughter of Henry Applebach is a graduate of the
Linden female seminary at Doylestown, and makes her home
with her aunt, Miss Hannah.
