GEORGE A. COOLEY manufacturer, P.O. Riegelsville, was born 
March 24, 1858, near Milford, Hunterdon county, N. J., his 
parents being Jacob V. and Sarah Cooley, natives of New 
Jersey.  Our subject's early life was passed and his 
education received at Milford, N. J., after which he 
attended school at West Chester, Pa.  On October 22, 1884, 
he married Miss Stella A. Welch, of Valley, N. J., and they 
have one child, Hannah A.  Mr. Cooley engaged in the 
hardware business in Milford in 1882, for three years, then 
associated with L. W. Miller at Pennargyle, and six months 
later he sold out to Mr. Harry Kern, and started with his 
present partner at Riegelsville.  The present store is 
twenty-two by seventy-two feet, and is two stories high, 
with a basement of frame.  The firm (Clark & Cooley) in 
connection with hardware carry on the manufacture of sashes, 
doors, etc., and are also contractors.  Up to this date Mr. 
Cooley has always been successful in business.  He is a 
Presbyterian, and in politics is a republican.
