DEATH OF MRS. ANNA CRONISE
  Mrs. Ana Cronise was borne to her grave by six grandsons, Isaac Zimmerman, 
Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, Luther Ramsburg, Wilbur Cronise, Jesse Gaugh and Americus 
Cronise, who were selected from different families to perform their last 
tender services to their grandmother, Mrs. Anna Cronise, at her funeral 
obsequies at Lewistown, Frederick county, Md., on July 29, 1896.  She died at 
the advanced age of 97 years, 9 months and 4 days, on the 27th day of July.
  After religious services and interment many relatives and friends from 
Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland returned to the old homestead.  Those 
assembled there were: Jacob Cronise and wife, of Virginia; Jacob Heagey and 
wife, of Pennsylvania; Alexander Ramsburg and wife, Mrs. Ann Maria Zimmerman, 
Mrs. Lydia Ann Gaugh, of Maryland; Dr. H. F. C. Heagey and wife, Judge A. W. 
Nicodemaus and wife, Eli Nicodemus and wife, J. L. Nicodemus and wife, 
Americus C. Cronise and wife, Jesse Gaugh and wife, Wilbur Cronise and wife, 
William Gaugh and wife, Isaac Zimmerman and wife, Neal Zimmerman and wife, 
Daniel Siess and wife, C. A. Nicodemus and wife, Mrs. Hannah Riegley, Mrs. 
William Brean, of Pennsylvania; Misses Susan Rhinehart, Belle Zimmerman, Maud 
Cronise, Mary Cronise, Belle Siess, Grace and Elsie Cronise, Mrs. Jennie 
Rouzer, Messrs. Cephas Zimmerman, John Gaugh, Luther Zimmerman, C. H. Cronise, 
F. C. O. Siess, Jacob Bowers and Revs. W. M. Strayer, Wm. H. Todd and Emanuel 
Pierce.
  She leaves two sons living, Jacob, of Fincastle, Va.; William, of Buchanan, 
Va., and four daughters, Mrs. Peter Zimmerman, Mrs. Jacob Heagey, Mrs. 
Alexander Ramsburg and Mrs. Daniel Gaugh, also fourty-five grandchildren, 
seventy-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
  She was one of six nonagenarians within a radius of three miles of her 
residence.
